This past Saturday I photographed the super special and incredibly sweet wedding of Amber and Nicky. It was small and intimate with only close friends and family attending. It was at Baba Yegas here in Houston, which has been here forever and is dearly loved by Houston folks. What made the day even more special was that hurricane Ike had blown through here 2 weeks back and the city had huge power outages and damage everywhere. Baba Yegas had no power until just days before the ceremony was to take place. So, it was huge sigh of relief to have it all fall into place. Here a few of my favorite shots...
Amber, waiting for everyone to get settled before the big moment.

The family, after the exchanging of vows. Her brother serenaded them.

Nicky's brother singing to them.

A stolen kiss during the reception

The cakes were so pretty!

the rings!

and finally, the happy couple, having a moment alone.

Amber & Nicky, I hope you love them! Thanks for choosing me to be your photographer. It was beautiful.
BEAUTIFUL pictures of an amazingly beautiful evening!
(10.01.08 @ 04:57 PM)This past weekend, Danny and I photographed Megan and Phillip's wedding. The ceremony was at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral and the reception was at The Majestic Metro, which is a cool renovated movie theater in downtown Houston. Here are a few of my favorite pictures from the day, enjoy!
Megan and her bridesmaids getting ready to walk down the aisle.

Megan wanted me to be sure and get a picture of her bridesmaids and their fun silver shoes.

flower girls

This brother and sister came all the way from Scotland
love these girls! Kids are always the first people to really get to partying at a reception.

After the reception, we went to the Magnolia hotel for some more pictures and cookies at the evening cookie bar they have there for guests, yum! We went up to the roof and had a little quick photo session.

This is one of my favorite shots of the day. The light was beautiful and the wind was crazy and we just ran with it.

Oh, and the rings
Danny and I give each other assignments when we shoot together. Usually it is a single word that we give each other and we have to come up with a set of images illustrating the word. This time it was the word "Sweet". Here's my sweet collage.

Hope you like them Megan and Phillip! Congratulations.
Farrah,I love the first picture, the one with the flower girls on the foreground! it reminds me of a Monet painting.
Love your blog!Valeria
(04.16.08 @ 06:59 PM)I love all of them! I just can't stand waiting to see the rest...Phillip and I have been so happy to see a little snap of what our day looked like because the next day we couldn't remember!
We we're so lucky to find the BEST photographers ever!
Thanks for perfectly capturing our day!
(04.22.08 @ 05:05 PM)In October Danny & I photographed Melissa & Chad's wedding. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather and a a great group of people. I have known Melissa for a while so I also knew quite a few of her guests, which made it all even more special. Melissa has been super patient with me waiting for these images to come online. So, here you go Melissa and Chad, I hope it was worth the wait!
Melissa, getting ready!

Just before the big moment, Melissa met with the priest for confession and assurance.
She got married at Sacred Heart Co-Cathedral here in Houston, which is really pretty. Here are just a few little details.

and then it was show time...

This little girl peeked out right towards the end of the ceremony, so cute!
They're hitched! I loved this celebratory kiss, so sweet.

and now, for one of the highlights...Melissa and Chad met at a local pub. So, in honor of the fateful date, we stopped at that same pub and bellied up to the same spot at the bar and had a little post ceremony refreshment! Chad had no idea that we had this planned so it was a fun surprise for him. Love the "shot faces"...

Reception time- lots of cool folks hanging out, celebrating, eating and dancing. It was great.

Little Oden, love the faux-hawk

The reception was at The River Oaks Garden Club, which was a beautiful spot. Here are a few little details...you know the couple is cool if they have a cake with a Replacements album cover on it!

Danny makes fun of me because I cry at every wedding. I can't help it. The toasts and the dances are always what gets me.

After the toasts, Melissa danced with her brothers. It was so beautiful and so sweet. Yes, this is about when I started crying.

and then she danced with her Mom and it was so amazing. I cried then too (blush).

After the sentimental dances, the party started! At one point, the DJ played Mr. Roboto and her brothers got out there and did a whole number to it. At that point, the beer & wine had been flowing for hours so everyone felt pretty comfortable letting out their inner Roboto. There isn't enough room on this blog for all of those hilarious pics.

As with all good things, it did finally come to an end.

Thanks Melissa and Chad for sharing your big day with us. It was awesome!
Danny Clark and I have started doing weddings together. It's been a really good time. This fall we shot 3 different weddings. It's been really interesting to see how our different photographic styles mesh. The holiday rush has put us both behind on blogging the 2 most recent weddings but they are coming! In the meantime, Danny and I decided to start a little tradition of sorts...we take a picture of us with the bride or bride and groom. Here's one of us that Danny took with one of our most recent brides, Melissa.

Now, off to work on getting Melissa her wedding days proofs!
