These 2 little boys came in to see me today and brought their super cute lab puppy, Shipley.  Little Luke was all smiles.  His brother took a little time to warm up to me...I was a bit suspect at first.  Finally in the end I got him to crack some smiles.  It's all about finding that one thing that makes them laugh.  In this case, it was tickling his brother and his Mom.

Look at Luke!  I love this stage.  He is sitting well but not yet crawling away from me and it makes for some awesome shots.  They are full of great expressions at this age too and their personalities really start to come out.

This expression just cracks me up!

The boys thought it was hilarious when I would take the ostrich feather that I have and try and get their Mom with it as she sat behind me...whatever works to get those big natural smiles!  Thanks Amanda for playing along!

Danny got Phoebe a little Christmas gift.  It's the most hilarious little thing.  Last week I took a few minutes break and had Phoebe do some modeling.  What do you think?

In case you're wondering, she does NOT like the outfit.  She freezes like a little statue when I put it on and won't move.

In my prior career life (one of them at least), I was a school teacher.  I taught photography at Episcopal High School here in Houston.  I love to teach!  I wish I could do both somehow but I haven't figured out that one just yet.  Anyway, today I had a proof review meeting with a client.  Towards the end of our meeting, I realized that her daughter was a student of mine from back at EHS.  It's a small world for sure!  Her Mom brought in her 2 dogs and we're creating this cool collage of Bella's faces as well as a cute handbag with her on it.  She said, "I think my daughter thinks I'm crazy".  So, this post is especially for Ashley...HELLO from me AND your Mom isn't crazy...see how cute Bella is?? :)

I guess this is fall right?  I mean it's still hot so it doesn't much feel like it.  For the past two days I have been hanging out at The Dog Bowl on Sunset taking dog portraits!  We did this event last year and everyone had such a good time that we did it again.  There were so many dogs and so many images that I may be posting doggie pics for a few days.  Here's a few of my favorites.

This little guy was just precious.  He was born via caesarian section and the doc nicked his head with the scalpel.  No, really I'm serious.  So, he has a little scar there and it makes his hair stick up.  The best part...his middle name is Nicholas. LOL!  He is the little dog baby of one of my clients whose wedding I recently photographed.

and this is sweet little Penelope

I love this one.  t looks like he's singing.

This is Zoe Bonet.  I photographed her and he Mom last year.  She still didn't really trust me and only wanted to be in her Mom's lap.  I did manage to coax her away for a few though.  In the end though, the lap one was one of my faves.

This lucky guy was a rescue from hurricane Katrina.  He was found wandering very far away from any town.  He had been wandering for months.  You'd never know it now.  He is so beautiful!  He's also found an amazing home with a really cool family.

More dogs to come!

We tend to be pretty lazy on Sundays.  I work on Saturday at least twice a month so Sunday is for the kids.  Here's what that looks like...

first we played a game that was sort of half dress up and half flying

then it was just dress ups

I love these of Finnian

We wore Finn out though.  He went off to nap and then it was just Sayer, Phoebe and I.  Sayer was in his PJ's all day, which is his favorite kind of day.

Sayer has learned to use our laptops.  We have a game on them where he makes digital paintings.  He's great at it and loves it.  I love the way he holds his little fingers as he uses the track pad.  He was working on one and he said, "Mommy, I am making this one for you because it has all hearts on it because I love you".
